..
your misguided.
WHy would you ever make a Quickey a "letter"?

THe point being , you simply make the shotcut an "f key" or a modifier action. ( two keys)

ITs not a hassle at all.
Anyone who buys quickeyes has the same response.. " why isnt this part of the Mac system.
Trust me folks, Quickeyes makes LE 300% better.
I work on a TDM and a LE system equally as often.
I have very few advantages on my TDM system over the LE.
I basiclly run both as is they are the LE system, this way I dont ever run into issues.
THe few TDM advantages are things like being able to move regions up and down tracks, and other stuff like that. THe limitations are certainly a drag in LE, but you get over it pretty quick.

QUICKEYES RULES!!!

I have though about setting up a trading post for quickeyes made for LE.
THe only issue is that some of the directions that Quickeyes uses are machine specific ( for example, they may look for specific drive names and specific folder names)
However, I have made a QUICKEYS travel cd, that I take on the road with me.
THis way when I go to a studio with a Pro Tools rig, i can customize in a flash.
THe first 20 minutes of eery session I work on is setting up my mouse and its special button assignemts, then I install quickeyes and make sure all my strokes are in order.
I realize it a super geek move. But It only takes about 5 minutes of editng before I hear " Wow.. You are so ***** fast on that thing!"

And by the way...
I dont leave Quickeyes installed on the studios mac.
I have absolutely no qualms with bringing software I bought to a Mac that I am working on. Ill go to the supreme court on this one!

I'm hardly misguided.. if you read the original question - he want the same keystrokes in LE that he has on the TDM version when in command mode -- which use single keystrokes.

I installed QK and started to assign the keys. Most worked great. I tried to make them as close to the TDM short cuts as possible, only I add the shift key to everything so that I can still type.
I also assigned a quick key to open a audiosuite Plug and that also worked like a charm.

At the end of the day, I think it helps out a lot.

2 thumbs up

Sorry Rail Jon Tugnut..
I didnt think the poster was needing the exact same keystrokes. I see your point.
Still Quickeyes is worth the time and money.
