Default Core Audio Issues with PT8 and Leopard 10.5.8

I just bought a G5 Desktop Tower that already had Leopard 10.5.8 installed on it. I'm using PT 8.0cs3 with Core Audio 8.0. and a 003 Rack. The Core Audio Manager and the Audio Midi Setup sees the 003 but when I launch pro tools the core audio doesn't recognize the 003 hardware anymore and defaults to the internal built in MAC audio card. I'm not sure if the 10.5.8 is the combo version. Anyway to fix this? I tried reinstalling the core audio but doesn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
