Re: NEW UPDATED Room Calibration for Film and TV Post
Is this a Stage Engineer at the Post Sound House telling you this OR a Dolby Engineer?
I would have the Facility Pink the room and verify what you are hearing. You need to trust the room and your ears. If it is calibrated correctly then use your ears and knowledge to mix as you feel appropriate. If you don't have confidence in the Facilty bring your mix to another room / studio/ Theater that you trust. It's your reputation so insist on them getting the room correct! Good luck and have fun!!

Re: NEW UPDATED Room Calibration for Film and TV Post
This was exactly the way it went. I was curious about what I was hearing in the rears when going to the stage with a wellknown mix. Then I checked with test-noise, and saw that the rear has 85 as well. I got the reply, that I have to mix with 85 on all channels and afterwards bump my rear-levels when bouncing the mix for theatre. I was told that with so much conviction that I feared having missed something over the last years. Glad, that's not the case.

Re: NEW UPDATED Room Calibration for Film and TV Post
Any good stage should have the ability to quickly A/B between formats .
At "The Dub Stage" we have had that ability since 2004! You need to change formats and know what every formats do to your mix. Basically its BS that you can't switch formats in a calibrated room that they are charging you Big $'s or should I say Euros for and hit a button on the monitors . The limitation of the room shouldn't cost you extra time and money to do your job! Here is a Video Link about "the Dub Stage" and multi format monitoring and being able to switch between each: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDUP7EYzt8o
