Default HD and LE/M-powered on same computer

Is it possible to install PT HD and LE/M-powered on the same system?

I've been a user of protools since 1999, from Digi 001 to M-Powered systems (owning several interfaces). Working constantly in studios with TDM systems, I've decided to upgrade myself to HD2.

I might need to go back to my M-powered system once in a while so would like to keep the software installed. Is there anything that would prevent such a setup?

The system is still in boxes, since I was on some important project and would not risk installing something new. I'm ready to install it soon, and would try to find out if this kind of configuration is possible

Many Thanks

It can be done, I beleive Rails done it.

Somewhere there ia a step by step guide from Digi on installing multible versions of PT. As I recall you have to install it and then move the DAE file to your desktop. Install the new program and the drag the other DAE file back into the folder. Something like that.

But yes it can be done as long as the respective hardware is hooked up.

I had the same question. I'm switching over to an HD system and would like to keep my 002R as a backup after reading some of the other recent problems with HD. I tried a search on "Rails" and no one with that name came up. Tried a search on "installing multiple versions of Pro Tools" and no luck.
Tried searching Digidesign too, no luck...

Search the TDM forum for topics (not contents) containing the “LE” and you are bound to land on a valid thread. This is one that pops up something like every three weeks.

IHTH.
