No, they decided to not fix the Space AAX DSP (which isn't DSP) because people wanted remote controlled pre-amps. And then didn't provide remote control pre-amps. Or monitor levels.

Not exactly. That seems to imply that we used preamp control development as rationale for not supporting AAX in DSP Mode. Then, just failed to ever deliver preamp control. Neither feature was planned for the initial product release. We didn't support Space in DSP Mode due to bugs that were going to be difficult to resolve in time for the product release. And, rather than release Carbon with those bugs we decided to limit the functionality to the native version. Preamp control from Pro Tools is a top requested feature and something we've always planned to add after the initial product release.

What it comes down to is priorities. We think adding preamp control first brings more value to our users than supporting Space in DSP Mode. And, to be clear, I am not saying that support for Space in DSP Mode will never come. It's just not the top priority right now.

Thanks.

Fair enough. The problem is, without any kind of roadmap, no-one knows when or if any of these features or fixes will ever happen.

It's a good product and I'm sure you guys on the ground are working hard to deliver stuff, it's just a bit frustrating as users to have so little clue about what is happening.

I get that and appreciate the feedback. There are exceptions, but in general we simply can't discuss our roadmap nor when features will be available until they are actually released.
