Default PT 12.2.1, Omni HD and Latest Motu XT

Hi, new HD user.
Any help would be appreciated this is a brand new installation. Windows 8.1 pro, motu express XT (new with latest drivers), latest PT HD, im on my cell and can provide more details when I get home. My studio is keyboard based, not virtual. Basically I can draw notes onscreen and play them back to external keyboards. PT will not take any midi in via external input. On the motu front panel i chose the recommended setting for Pro tools (30 frame setting) I've tried creating many midi combos (including general midi) in the setup/midi area, no luck. In Setup/peripherals/midi devices i only see something like command8, HUI, Maudio and some other one to choose from. I don't see motu listed. Anyone experience such an issue? I recently read that motu has issues with PT, any feedback on this as well? Thanks

Default Re: PT 12.2.1, Omni HD and Latest Motu XT

Additional TEST notes:
(yes, MIDI thru is checked in PT)
I connect my Moog SUB37 via USB using the same MOTU cable and it works fine. Notes are recorded in PT.
I plug in the MOTU Express XT and the SUB37 via MIDI to the MOTU, no input, no MIDI IN, but MIDI OUT works ok.
I installed MIDI-OX and selected the MOTU Express XT and it works. I can see MIDI data from the SUB37, connected to the MOTU via MIDI on the screen, so MIDI IN works on MODI-OX software.
So it seems, Pro Tools HD 12.2.1 accepts MIDI input from a SUB37 via USB, but not when patched through the the MOTU.
MIDI-OX accepts MIDI input from the MOTU via its USB connection.
Does anyone here use a MOTU Express XT in a Pro Tools 12 HD set up? I do experience a few a couple of these issues hen MOTU driver is installed.
I have dozens of 80s vintage MIDI stuff and require at least one USB MIDI router with 8x8 to work with PT HD.
I found this sweetwater support entry and can Avid confirm this is an known issue and if there is a fix coming?

"Per Avid:

With MOTU device drivers installed and the MOTU device attached:
•Pro Tools 11 becomes unstable and crashes on attempt to shut
down
•MIDI stops working
•Close session works. Creating a new blank session then hangs.
•Sometimes you cannot close in Task Manager.

The following errors are infrequently observed when quitting:
•The path is not found.(3)
•The parameter is incorrect. (87)

This issue is specific to MOTU MIDI interfaces that offer stand-alone capabilities (ie routing matrix, MTC/LTC sync etc….) In the current product line this includes the MIDI Express XT and the Micro Express.

This issue is also specific to Pro Tools 11, this is not the case with Pro Tools 10.x
This issue is currently being investigated, with a view to introduce a fix in a future version of Pro Tools."
