Default Leave HD i/0 and 192 on 24x7?

I have rack of HDi/o and 192 i/o units in a machine room. Can I just never turn them off? Temp in room is kept at 74 degrees. But I will turn off computer everyday.

Anyone do this?

We leave all our studios running 24x7 for the interfaces year round (except for the extended break that sometimes happens at Christmas to New Years -- if we're lucky.) Computers go off and on. Interfaces and word clocks are always on.

Agree 100%. I leave everything on almost always.

Yes with a climate controlled machine room I usually leave everything on except maybe for extended holidays.

I have been turning several Digidesign/AVID interfaces on and off on a daily basis for over a decade. 96 I/O, 192, HD, Sync... you name it. No problems at all. Turn off as much as you can. Except maybe servers with spinning HDDs which are build to run 24x7. Save the energy! Let's work sustainable :)

Likewise, mostly because my interfaces are in my "machine room" (aka. office/kitchenette) which is not as well air conditioned as my main room. I do leave my computer on though.

There really is NO reason not to turn them off- I have had loads of them over the years 192 and hd io……. - on for weeks at a time and some on for a few hrs on and off every day..
none has ever had a power supply failure - total of 12 units over the last 13 years

Yeah I would turn them off but the new machine room is thru a sound lock and another door. The exit to my studio is the other way.
