Default 10.3.8 plays back staccato

I just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.8.5 and I also upgraded to Pro Tools 10.3.8.

When I put an Avid Virtual Instrument on a Track and play legato notes, I hear legato.

But when I Record the same, and play it back, the notes sound staccato!

The Score Editor also notates my legato quarter-notes as:

16th note, 16th note rest, 8th note rest.

All previously recorded sessions of mine, with Virtual Instruments play back "normally," that is without staccato.

What is going on? Is this a bug—or is there a new Default for Avid Virtual Instruments as "staccato"?

Please help!

Dan

Christopher,

My MIDI keyboard is M-Audio Keystation Pro 88.

It has 4 Zones with 4 Buttons, labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4. I always have Button 1 Selected.

I set a book atop the Keystation and unknowingly Selected Zone 2, that is, the weight of the book caused the Zone Button 2 to be Selected.

Once I realized that I Selected Zone 1 once again—and all was fine.

LOL well that would probably never been solved by anyone here as guessing that right would have made me buy 100 lottery tickets and almost "knowing" I'd win

Thank you very much for posting back your solution.

I am happy you found the solution and hope you have a great experience with Pro Tools and your other gear too.

Have nice weekend and be well

Christopher
