I am composing / sequencing in cubase. How can I press play in Cubase and have the audio bounce in Pro Tools 12. Thank you

I know this have to be done via Lan. I am connected via LAN Ethernet Cable

Why? Just getting "a bounce" in Pro Tools means nothing. You can record the same final output (e.g. stereo mixdown) in Cubase. I suspect 'bounce' is not what you really mean. What exactly are you trying to do and why?

I don't want to bounce in Cubase. I want to route the audio to bounce in Pro Tools. I am using a host and slave system. I will be mixing in Pro Tools.

There is no easy way to do this. You are dealing with two DAWs that AFAIK are Rewire Master only, no slave support. So mix in Cubase, or find equivalent AAX VI Plugins for Pro Tools, or host your VST VIs in something that supports being a Rewire Slave, like Ableton Live. Or just bounce the audio out of Cubase and manually move to Pro Tools.

There is a way to do this. All film composers have this set up. They work with Cubase (Master) and Pro Tools (slave). They route the audio to pro tools so it can bounce/ print there to save time for exporting / importing

If you know it can be done, and you know how then surely you just open up the documentation for Pro Tools that describes how to make it a ReWire slave.... or since *all* composers are doing this you must be able to just Google for instructions that would be all over the web...

Ableton Live, Reason, VE Pro.... different story as they slave to Pro Tools via ReWire.

OK, allow me describe how I do similar tasks...if I really understand what the OP is asking ;

I work 90% in Nuendo, and occasionally need to mix in PT for client request reasons . Yes, I do post for broadcast TV..

* all my work is done in Nuendo . Then I am exporting AAF including all raw audio tracks and their after edit/processed version. File naming and management is important !

* import AAF into PT and mix out final and stems.

I find it a logical, solid way to work. although a bit time consuming ( bill your client )

I hope this makes sense and help you out a bit...

Thank you all for your input. All great feedback but still does give me any answers. I appreciate it.

Perhaps I should try the cubase forum.

Don't hold your breath.

What exactly are you trying to achieve/solve? You can do a lot by connecting Pro Tools up to software like Ableton Live or VEP. And since it is actually doable folks here can help you out with that.
