Whaddya mean? Is this new info? They have been saying compatibility with newer G4's. Yes, not to G3's but let's get serious, those are old machine and have completely different innards than G5's. I'd be bummed though if there was no G4 support completely. Where did you see this?

Hmmmm.

I see new what you are saying. The new post from the technical administrator, says that G4 support is no longer in there three phase process, but will be supported in a further phase (read never) But only 866 MGZ computers and faster.

So it is a change in their earlier position where they said G4 support was in Phase III. I think.

I'm not sure WHAT compatibility page you read - but the one I read at this very moment says (which indicates that 10.3. is supported only - no more 10.2 ... that's all I figured) - no need to say Bye Bye Digi if you got a G4 but that's up to you:

Pro Tools LE — Summary Of Expected Supported Configurations with Pro Tools LE 6.2.2
Digi 002
Digi 002 Rack
Mbox
Mac OS: Mac OS X 10.3.1 only
On the following computers, only with Mac OS X 10.3.1 & Pro Tools LE 6.2.2
Power Mac G5 1.6 GHz, 1.8 GHz, and Dual 2.0 GHz models
iMac G4
PowerBook G4
iBook G4

This is rather confusing. If processor speed is the issue, why would Digi mention support for PowerBook G4's, some that could be as low as 400mHz, and not mention G4 towers that could be as high at 1.42gHz?

"supported" or "qualified" doesn't mean it won't be possible.

Imagine Digi would check EVERY possible PC motherboard and cpu configurations... is this real?

Digi qualifies few "latest" systems to be sure they can provide FULL support to those systems. however if a system isn't mentioned under the comptability it just mean digi havn't tested it fully enough to support it.

Many "unsupport" configuration work fine with PT just digi don't have the time to check any system created in the universe.

This is the new post and I as you am disappointed. My Mbox PowerBook will work in 10.3.1 but not my G4 tower Mix system. Until...........
Maybe we need more programmers on the payroll! (ooops, less profit)

QS G4 2002 dual 1GHz, 1.5Gb ram

(my 2¢ or is that $2 nowadays)
