3 blink delay before record starts...SOLVED!

Somehow, in trying to get the shortcut of "period 2, period" (supposed to choose a memory location but didn't work) I created a situation where PT pauses for 3 blinks of the 'record' light before recording actually starts! I hit F-12 as usual, and now all of a sudden, there is this delay.

Does anybody know how to stop this from happening?
I can't make it quit and want to go back to near-instantaneous recording. ARRRRGH.

Check to see if you have not accidentally enabled the midi "2 bar" count off (not preroll). Look at the transport (fully expanded) second button in from the right.

When I opened the transport all the way the 2 Bars was lit- I bet you've got it... yep.

Stone, you probably already know this, but if you arm the transport record button and then alt + click the transport play button, the transport play button will start to blink when ready and then when you push play PT starts to record right away. I use this mode instead of limiting my record time to get around the wait-to-record lag time of my audio drive.
