What do I need for the PT 9 Crossgrade

Just wanted to check with people who may have already upgraded.
I have PT8 on an mBox mini, never registered but I have everything for it.

I need to up to PT9 and the crossgrade looks like the best option. I know I need an iLok. But what process to I go through to get the things on the iLok?

Been a while since I upgraded but it goes something like this.

Purchase crossgrade. You should get a registration/ activation number. Then you'll log onto a page on avid's site and put in the number.

Then it will ask for your hardware serial number and ilok account name. You enter those things and it sends an ilok license to your ilok account and puts the pro tools 9 download file in your avid account page.

You download the ilok asset to your ilok (through ilok.com), then download and install pro tools 9 (don't forget your device drivers). And you're good to go.

The steps may be slightly out of order, and are probably an over simplification, but that's the gist of it.

I am using PT8LE and was wondering once I buy the crossgrade how will I get it to work on my PC and laptop (ofcourse using the ilok one at a time). Do I need to put in my PT8LE serial number everytime I install it or is that used only once during the buying process and thats it ??

Did you see the post above yours?
Your PTLE 8 "serial number" doesn't factor in.
The serial number from your qualified PTLE interface does.
Any Mbox 2 or 3, or any 002/003.

Before you do anything else, create your iLok account!

You don't need to have your iLok yet to do this.

Make sure you enter your iLok user name (not your iLok's name) when prompted by the PT 9 registration. Otherwise your PT 9 license will end up just floating around in the iLok universe...
