Dual Processor = Pro Tools 7 onwards?
Is it true that a dual processor machine only supports Pro Tools version 7 and onwards?

Yes, though you can run "pre-PT7" versions on dual core or dual CPU machines, but you'll have to disable one of the cores/CPU to make it work with no hassles (albeit only in PT, other apps may work just fine).
