Delay before record starts
Since updating to 10.4.2 and PT 6.9.3r2 I have a one second delay before the playhead moves and recording begins. If I dis-arm from record there is no start delay. My MIDI count off is turned off. Any ideas.

Re: Delay before record starts
Go to the operations tab of your preferences and check to see that you have the 'open ended record allocation' set to a reasonable time limit rather than 'use all available space'.

Re: Delay before record starts
60 minutes......I have tried as short as 3minutes. I can boot off my other Panther drive and all is well using the same audio drives.

Re: Delay before record starts
Reformat your audio drive as HFS+ with Journalling enabled.

Re: Delay before record starts
DAE buffer is 2 (Default) and yes it is hooked up to an Apple X-serve with Fibre Share X as the software. This has worked perfectly for two rooms for two years. And it is working perfectly on our identical system. That's why I keep thinking it is some preference I am missing

Re: Delay before record starts
I would check your SAN settings.
There are only 3 things in Pro Tools which can cause slow start time: 1) DAE Buffer size. 2) Open Ended Record Allocation 3) Count-off If you trash your prefs and reset these to 2, 10 minutes and Off respectively.. and you still have a slow start time -- look elsewhere. Rail
