Apex 450 tube mic

I have a chance to get this mic used for about $200-$250. With the case, shockmount, cable and power supply. The whole kit. Has anyone used one of these? What can you tell me about it. I don't know anyone who owns any apex mic's.

That sound's like a good deal to me. That mic is about $550-$600 new so I would say to go for it. I don't personnaly own the 450, but I have an Apex 460 which I like the sound of alot. It's very clear and open with a nice full extended low end. The one thing that I run into on occasion is the output of the microphone being a little too hot, but other than that I have no complaints. I like to use it for room micing, acoustic guitar, vocals, bass amps, and guitar amps. I put it with AKG414TLII and my Neumann TLM103's, and it really holds it own. I wouldn't say it's better, just another choice. I also have 2 Apex 435's, which I think are really good mics too. The bang for the buck factor is excellent with all Apex stuff.
