benefits of ram?
You know, I've been using Pro Tools for about 15 years now and I'm still not sure the benefits of more ram. I've been searching the DUC for about an hour trying to find the answer.
I know ram helps you open more programs on your computer but in what way does it help Pro Tools function. More RTAS plugs? More tracks? etc. Any comments would be helpful, thanx |

Re: benefits of ram?
Performance, especially when using multiple applications and sample instrument plug-ins.
General performance increases after 1GB. CPU and spare boot-drive space also play into this. As does type/speed of boot drives. PPC dual 2.7 6Gb apple ram (Samsung) |
