Undipped Mix Minus

Hello all,


I am sure this has been discussed in the past, and I have found a couple threads about this subject, but I'm still a bit confused. What would be the best way to create a Mix Minus Narration undipped for Narration while still creating your regular stereo mix?

In the M&E aux that you dip under the narration, put a pre-fade send in the channel and send that wherever your undipped MixMinus needs to go.

Create 2 AuX Busses and send all your music and effects to them both.
Route one of your Music and Effects Aux to your Full Mix Master and one to your Mix minus M+E Master.
Make Sure you have a seperate VO Buss.

Dip only the Music and Effects track that is being sent to the Full mix.
I usually draw in the dips around -8db under a VO.
I Also make sure the undipped M+E sits around -5 to -3 on my VU

This is how I do it on a day to day basis.
