How to set up RME Fireface and Pro Tools 9
Hi im just trying to set up my RME Fireface 800 with PT9.
I have a RME Octamic connected to the Fireface 800 through the analog inputs so 10 inputs in total... Not using the ADAT. In the hardware tab I can only get 'Generic Low Latency ASIO'... and when I launch setup app I can see fireface inputs and outputs but I want to be able to enable all 10 inputs that I have! Is Generic Low Latency ASIO the only option for anyone not using PT hardware or should I be trying to get RME Fireface 800 to appear in the Peripherals options as it is in Cubase? Safe to assume, and after searching I don't think RME have released any support for setting up their hardware with Pro Tools 9 yet. Thanks for your help in advance! MK |

Re: How to set up RME Fireface and Pro Tools 9
Seems something is not installed correctly.
I have an RME FF800, and currently in the RME panel I have the "bandwidth" backed off one notch so it's showing "An./SPDIF/ADAT1", as I basically have the ADAT2 inputs turned off. Then in PT9 it's showing under hardware setup as one entry "ASIO Fireface". One oddity on that panel is clicking on Launch setup app doesn't do anything, however I just close PT and go to the RME settings panel to set it up. In PT9 I/O all the inputs/outputs of the FF800 should show up, and with my bandwidth cranked back one notch I still have a total of 20 ins/outs in PT9. You mentioned only seeing "Generic Low Latency ASIO", but I see "ASIO Fireface" so it appears your PT9 install isn't finding your RME driver but something else... Perhaps you need to reinstall your FF800 drivers, then find the RME Fireface mixer panel and Fireface settings panel. I'm finding everything from my RME FF800 is posting in Reaper, Sonar, and PT9. Hope that helps! |

Re: How to set up RME Fireface and Pro Tools 9
Cool, thanks for your help / confirming there should be the RME Fireface driver option. Definitely helped but I bet it will drive me insane trying to work out why its not recognizing it, although is working fine in Cubase etc.
Weird though, I just installed the latest RME drivers and, on my third attempt PT9 actually installed properly... the first two had a hiccup or crashed. |

Still struggling with this...
PT9 just won't find the Fireface ASIO drivers. Have installed latest Fireface drivers. Cubase recognizes it, Windows Media Player etc... Anyone else? |

Re: How to set up RME Fireface and Pro Tools 9
Just worked it out... had to go into Playback Engine and Fireface ASIO was just chilling there... ridiculous I had clicked every other menu possible except for that one, just didn't click for me.
Hopefully this helps anyone else! |
