Lol, fair.

Other choices besides the dangerous and presonus? TBH the presonus would be perfect for me if it had one more set of analog inputs, and I could assign the headphone outs independently.

I use a Melda plugin to do something similar where it will only open up
A talkback track when pro tools is stopped. If that sounds like it would
Help let me know and I’ll find the name for you. I want to say it was free.

Close, looking for sort of the opposite though - mute the main output whenever the record button is enabled.

I think Mackie has a monitor called Big Knob.

I'm sure there is a lot of them out there.

For the Presonus Monitor Station 2, I agree, but if you mean the Central Station, this can be done. It has 2 separate PH outputs and either can be switched between the main signal or a separate input to the CS. I actually feed a second set of outputs from my interface via sends on every track. This is perfect for an independent PH mix(though not what I use it for). The Audient Nero also offers this versatility, so for a new purchase, the Nero might be best, but used Central Stations are often a serious bargain(but avoid the earlier model with the 5-pin XLR PSU).
