Default Re: White bursts of noise and I/O device error ?! HELP

Got it! Thanks for all of your help, really appreciate it.
Good news is, after copying all of those files over to a different drive, they seem (knock on wood, only tried a couple so far) to be working ok as far as the static noise part.
Still got this error once, when playing just a small file for some reason: "DAE can't get audio from drive fast enough. Drive may be too slow or fragmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to extra firewire bandwith or CPU upload". So not sure if that has to do with video driver.

But at least the static seems better so far. Going to try the video driver next.

Glad you nailed it..!

Then you can download the motherboard chipset drivers too and install
the lastest version ...the error might be the storage device driver ...

Good luck !

You might want to run a low level error check on the old drive using the manufacturers bootable DOS Utilities disk and do a complete error check. But make sure its backed up someplace else first.

If your confident of our backup(s) you might try erasing the drive and doing a low level format. Keep in mind this WILL destroy any data on the drive. Once its formatted copy the files back. If that doesn't fix things it would tend to indicate that you may have some corrupted files.

I've seen the low level format sort drives out once and a while. Especially those that have had the power shutoff while writing or saving files.
