Sampletank acting strange
So I just got done authorizing my T-Racks eq and Amplitude LE which came bundled with the 002R. When I pulled up Sampletank SE (the third included in bundle), I didn't get the authorization pop-up window as I did with the other 2, which I thought was kind of odd, but I simply carried on and auditioned some of the sounds.
I found a lot of them to be useable, but it seems many of them sounded muffled and a bit distorted, regardless of a distortion effect added or not. Next, I decided to remove the ST insert on my aux track and bang, PT quits, some error message came up and that was that (can't remember what it said exactly). Anyone else have this happen?

Re: Sampletank acting strange
I had major headaches getting the authorization to work with SampleTank. After many, many tries it finally took. I know it wasn't any of the codes because I copied and pasted them into a text document and used the same ones over and over. I think SampleTank is a bit finicky, but once I got it to work it seems pretty OK.
Anyone making the plunge for SampleTank2? I need a good virtual drum machine, and I'm tired of watching NI miss the release dates for Battery. Dave |

Re: Sampletank acting strange
Interesting that you mentioned the codes thing, as I remember reading in a different thread that typing in the number manually seems to help, which is what I did and had no problems with T-Rax and Amplitude authorizations. But that's the strange part, my Sampletank just instantiated without me entering any codes or anything. It showed up, I played about with the presets to give me an idea of how it sounds, tried to remove it from the track and 'pouf - PT quit...
Springin' for Sampletank 2? Well, based on what I just heard here in this bundled SE version, no, I'm not impressed at all. Some of the drumkits were ok and I must admit the choirs were quite nice, among a handful of good sounds. At this point, I'd rather spring for a used Roland XV-3080 or 5050 and know what I'm getting. I've worked with the JV sound engine for a while and once your ears get used to that, it's tough one to match. I'll just keep using Reason and the NNXT with some good quality AIF files and multi-instruments I already have. Having said that, I love T-Racks, always did, and I know I will enjoy Amplitude quite a bit. So, it's not IK I don't like, it's Sampletank, which just doesn't do it for me, just being honest.
