mbox 2 acting strange
Edit: Sorry, I screwed up and posted this in the wrong forum. If a mod would be so kind as to delete it that would be great.
I'm running PT 9 with a USB mbox2 on Windows 7 (i've got a separate drive for samples and project files). Everything has been working fine until a few days ago... Sometimes it recognizes that the audio card is acting weird and it won't play at all, other times it tries to play but all that comes out is sudden bursts of static every 2 seconds or so (it's a consistent interval). I can't get any sound out of any program anymore except the weird consistent static bursts (I've been trying iTunes and PT mainly). I've tried uninstalling and re installing the mbox2 drivers to no success. I've uninstalled and re installed PT and everything was back to working for a few minutes but then randomly (with a PT session open) it went back to the sporadic static thing and won't work again. I've done a search and I've seen things about random white noise, which was an issue I had occasionally with my old malfunctioning laptop and PT (same mbox), but this is a different sound. It's like the audio card is malfunctioning.. when I try to run PT with the failing audio, I can watch as the line struggles to move across the screen, as if it's waiting for the audio card to act. Another thing, before it stopped working all together, I was getting the "You are running out of CPU power" error when I was pretty sure I shouldn't have been (only a few plugins open when I used to be able to have much more). did I screw up by trying to use my mbox2 for regular default windows sounds? Is my mbox dying? Any help I could get would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. ***** Start of Report ***** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <<< Status >>> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- < SiSoftware Sandra > Name: SiSoftware Sandra Lite (Eval) Version: 2012.01.18.10 Platform Compliance: x64 URL: http://www.sisoftware.co.uk E-Mail: [email protected] Twitter: http://twitter.com/sisoftwareuk Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SiSoftware < SiSoftware Sandra > Copyright: Copyright © SiSoftware 1995-Present.
