Default antares auto tune

i just bought Antares Auto tune 3 and ever since I installed it my computer locks up when I use it. I have an Allen machine and it is about 9 months old. Haven't had any flaws before. When I play a song eaither the computer locks up and I cannot do anything or the song stops and I get this noise that sounds like a cd skipping. sometimes I get an error message saying I am using too much cpu power, but I haven't got that many plug-ins going. I did a search, but the info didn't help. I defraged the hard drives, and did the disable checks. Can anyone help with this problem?
