Also, Dante Controller doesn't need to be running - it's merely used to interrogate, edit or create Dante patches.

Indeed, the latency is a show-stopper for workflows requiring re-recording. As of Pro Tools 2021.6, you now have access to the full 64x64 IO with Dante Virtual Soundcard and Pro Tools via CoreAudio.

IMHO Dante Virtual Soundcard is a waste of time for recording.

I'm a fan of the Focusrite Rednet PCIEr card for getting native audio in and out of the computer.
