Hi Fluteman

We use PT11HD on OSX 10.8.5 with Macbook Pro and Mac Pro 12 core with OSX 10.8.5 without any issues at all. Everything is stable and feels much more tight and swift

Happy Hanukkah

Best Wishes

Oh, when I first saw the topic of this thread I actually for a second thought it was a statement, not a question. Hope has a special place in my heart.

Anyway, 11.1 looks like a good step on the way. Great work Avid! I'm there pretty soon to upgrade my system too. Looking forward to it.

I have 10.8.5 in both laptops, which are ethernetted with VEP 5, as well as the poor mans satellite that Russ describes in Pro Tools Expert. One is a spring 2011 MBP i7, and the other is spring 2013 MBPr i7. Just upgraded to 11.1, 10.3.8, and using mountain lion. All is well on first impressions. Smooth functioning. No issues yet. Will ramp up over the next few days.

In that case I'd go for the combo updater for OSX 10.8.5 (never ever use Apple's Software Updater as it can miss things) first. Then do the PT 10.3.8 update (do a clean uninstall of 10.3.7), reboot, repair permissions. Then do the update to PT 11.1, reboot, repair permissions again. You may have to re-install audio drivers. When doing the reboots actually power down everything and then bring it all back up with peripherals first and then the computer. Reason I mention that is I didn't do that and had lost communications with my 11 Rack even though the computer rebooted after the OSX update. I kept getting weird errors in 10.3.8 and 11.1 and neither could see my 11R. I had to cold start everything.

Don't forget that there's a separate download for the instruments pack. So all told you're looking at three downloads.
