My last Mac was a G4. It's running a slide show now and doing a very good job of it. G4s rule.

Hehe, my old G4 is a linux file and FTP server. It's a bit noisy, but it hangs in there.

...i agree with the woes of the PT upgrade and 002rack...

the Mbox(mini) seems to work fine... albeit i have to reset my i/o to default, so i can actually use 'busses.' otherwise, i have no sends... weird.

the 002r has been a nitemare.

...before, PT 8 would obviously recognize the 002r and select it as the audio interface... but now, i need to load "core audio mgr" (the "new" one,) so that it will connect to the computer...

...but once i start PT9, there's no 002r available. if i'm in aggregate audio/midi set-up, i cannot choose to make the 002r the default interface... only "built in audio" and sometimes the mbox are available.

So, i quit digi Core Audio Mgr and then - poof - no 002r firewire connectivity...

restart Core Audio Mgr... and... no choice to use the 002r in PT9.

*
somehow, i was able to get it working at one point in time... but i think it was a lucky fluke. under 'hardware,' it resembled the familiar buffer; clock settings without trying to send me to the audio/midi setup app.

**
anyway...

love the info about holding down "n." guess i missed that one in all the UPGRADE NOTES!!! (not.) i'll have to try it out.

boooo PT9 upgrade... booo.

The 002 is single client only. If you have Core Audio Manager launched or your Sound preference panel set to use the 002, you won't be able to use it in Pro Tools and vice versa.

That's a bit of a limitation (single client), but I have an M-Audio Oxygen 8 set as my default audio device (which doesn't require CAM) in the Sound Preference panel, so I think I'm ok.

So PT9 is CAM only now? No more DAE? How about for PT9 HD? Is that's how you unhooked it from Digi hardware?
