Mismatched AVID Control App

I was exactly waiting for all the updates available on the stores to updated my setup but unfortunately, my samsung tablet (dock) auto updated and my Amazon Fires (2x S1) don't have the new updates yet...
So, I can't updated my dock/s1 for now, but I cannot roll back my Dock Tablet... For the time being, I'll use one of the s1 tablets on my dock and will leave my S1 without a tablet.. :/

And hopefully you turned off auto update on your devices.

That should probably be a big red warning on all Avid Control apps when downloading from the Play/Amazon/iOS stores. Because this will happen again since Avid has no control of the stores when they want to approve and publish.

Good idea in theory, but as Eddie pointed out earlier in the thread that would pretty much take away your ability to roll back.

Yes, though as of the release of 2022.4 all 3 stores had Avid Control still in their approval process. Please check the store for your platform prior to updating EuControl software.

I heard just a bit ago that it was approved on the Google store (sorry that doesn't help you I know, just FYI that there's progress). We anticipate the others approving very soon.

why the hell does avid release a new Eucon version if they know the control app is unavailable and have no say in its release date, They should just wait for the app release instead of this ******** JUST A WASTE OF USERS' TIME AND MONEY!!

It's available on some platforms. Just not Apple's yet. If they didn't release Eucontrol, and the tablet/phone app auto-updates happen, then Eucon would stop working for the user since there would be no working matching Eucontrol on the computer.

They can't control the stores. But YOU can control when you install Eucontrol. And you should WAIT until the apps are available on your devices. And, at worse, you can rollback/reinstall the older version of Eucontrol if you scew up and install too soon.
You can't rollback/reinstall older versions of the apps (because that's controlled by the stores.)

There is no rollback on iOS anyway. You could put that in the Control App by adding a "Legacy Mode". Seen that with other apps... Avid could make an app that would communicate with different versions of EuControl.
