Default PT10 Clip gain - multiple clips adjust at once?

Having come from Fairlight a while back I can't quite believe I have this functionality back... almost! It's extremely good news, and after jumping in the deep end with the upgrade, I am very pleased - the disk cache system seems to greatly improve everything too.

Anyway - can anyone tell me if it's possible to turn up or down the static (overall) gain of various clips at once, without grouping them?

I can see that you can group them, turn them up, render and then ungroup but this seems rather convoluted... as I work with sfx mostly, this would be very handy to add to the clip gain feature.

Sorry I got over excited and didn't RTFM.

I have now read the manual and it's clear as day - on a mac just select all clips you want to adjust (e.g. use the grabber object tool) hold ctrl+shift (on a mac) and use the wheel or magic mouse up/down, or up/down keys!

Thanks Avid, this is so good for fx work... no more automation lanes mess.

That's any awesome trick. But...is there a way to bring multiple clips to unity all at the same time? Like for instance when an editor sends over a bunch of clips that are at -infinity....I'd love to turn them all on at once to see what it is they had off.

Cheers

Select all clips (I prefer the entire aaf as soon as it's loaded into my session), and "coalesce clip gain to volume automation". This way all clip gain is reset to 0dB and intended volume is added to the current volume automation. You can delete automation as you please.

Found this answer on some random youtube vid.

It's Shift + Control on Mac, then scroll up or down while holding them to adjust the clip gains of any clips you've selected

****-ctl-B clears clip gain. Other ways to get there are through the Edit menu or right-clicking the selected clips. You can also option-click on the little clip gain fader icon, though don't know if that works for multiple clips and not in front of my system at the moment... You can also temporarily *bypass* clip gain by right-clicking the clips.
