Default How can you simulate PFL ?

In my old analog world I founded PFL very useful (I mean listening to what comes to a specific fader without modifying solo/mute/groups), how can you simulate it on ProControl or ProTools ?

This has been discussed before, see the thread at http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/Forum27/HTML/001990.html and other threads on this topic by searching on the word solo.

Thank you Rail, what you call AFL that you find in newer high-end consoles is a more refined version of what I called PFL; infact my PFL was on a mono bus, but the use is the same. I think Digi should find a way to implement it via software, I find it very useful.

Steve

PFL -> Pre Fader Listen
AFL -> After Fader Listen

The 9K and Focusrite support both these modes. For Digi to incorporate these modes in their systems, they'd have to add another one or two dedicated voices, which could also be used for previewing fades and regions in the region bin. I'd sure like it

Regards.

Couldn't they use 2 busses from the ones they already have? Just make a setup option that allocates 31/32 to either normal bus mode or PFL mode.

Always the optimist...
