2 Questions I-Mac G4 M-Box related

What is the most cost efficient way to send MIDI with my setup? G4/15"iMac and M box. Also, is there a way to connect an additional monitor? Any advice? Thanks. I don't know what I'd do if it weren't for the DUC.

MOTU USB Fastlane. It works quite well. I have found on the LCD I-Mac’s, that the USB (Built-in 3 connections) are a weak link hub. you may need to unplug an re plug to identify any of the units attached. (mouse included and most often) How ever the midi works quite well (2 in-2 out)
For the LCD I-Mac there is a mirror monitor output. You will need an Apple VGA adaptor for this and you can not use it for extended desktop. Only a mirror image of you built in monitor. But you can attach a larger monitor or a projector to this.

According to this you can have an "extended desktop" monitor set-up on an iMac with a bit of apple tweeking


BTW...... what track/plug performance do you get on your set up?
