Default Transfer Of Ownership

If the person you are transferring ownership FROM wasn't previously registered, does the person who the ownership is transferred TO become the registered owner anyway?

Thanks
Joe

hi

if the first owner was not registered, you should get the all the registration cards with your purchase to become the first registered owner.

In this case there is even no real need to transfer ownership. But safe is safe.

So even if they weren't registered, I would still become the registered owner?
Basically, is the Transfer of Ownership form another way to register?

Cheers
Joe

hi

usually it goes like this:

you purchase a digi product. included in the box is a registration cards. if you fill it out and send it to digi you become registered as the owner. If you didn´t send it, you´re still stay the owner but won´t recieve tech support.

If you decide to sell your digi product but have not registered yet, there is no need to tranfer ownership, since digi doesn´t know you are a customer.

On the other side, as a buyer, you should get the original registration card with your second hand purchase plus the original purchase receipt, if possible, since warranty starts from the day of the original date of purchase.
So fill in the cards and send it to digi to beceome a registered owner.

If in some time you may choose to sell your pack THEN you must transfer ownership to the new buyer.

is this explained enough?

No, what I mean is even if I don't have to, if I send a Transfer Of Ownership form to Digidesign, will that make me the registered owner if the pervious one wasn't registered?
Can you send in the Transfer Of Ownership forms in as a substitute for the registration cards?

Hope I've made myself clear, I'm a klutz at this!

I guess No. As the first registrar you have to send in the registration card.

there´s no sense in that. Either the first person was registered or you get the registration card.
If the first owner lost it, I assume to must contact digi support and proof somehow that the product was legally and rightfully aquired.

But a simple transfer form instead a reg. card won´t do. Then you have to work something out with
digi sales or something. They are usually quite helpful if you can provide serial and for soft and hardware.

That´s from my expierience here.

Thank you so much, finally I know what I need to know.
I should have made myself clear, I didn't get a Registration card with the Digi 001 (the previous owner must have thrown it out/lost it).

So all I have to do it phone Digidesign and talk to them about it and everything should work out?

Thanks again!
