Default Getting a Behringer FCB1010 to work in PT ? (SOLVED)

Yo

Anyone have any insights or tips on getting a Behringer FCB1010 to work in PT 2022.x ? Done a bunch of Googling and no useful hits - not a good sign.

Any hacks ?

What do you mean by “work?” What doesn’t “work?”
Care to post your system specs and detailed information about what you’re trying to do?

SW

Sorry my bad.

I want to use the FCB1010 to control plugins in PT. So far I have found the 'Mode' CC message and the 'Flip' CC message critical in getting the focus to move to the plugin. Also, I can only use the CC messages assigned to the Fader Block (CC 33-40) to map to plugin parameters. Other CC messages don't seem to map.

I got most of the way using this old post:

https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=381063

So it seems I am limited to 8 controller CC messages for controlling plugins.

I was hoping to see if anyone else on the forum had experience with the FCB1010. I am using it as part of my guitar rig now so I wouldn't mind another bunch of mappable CC that I could use on different Banks in the 1010.

Cheers

All

A few tips for anyone stumbling across this thread.

1) I used Waves Studio Rack (FREE) to house all the plugins I wanted to control

2) I setup a midi track with INPUT set to the FCB1010 and OUTPUT set to the Studio Rack Instance

3) I set the Default Midi Through Device to the Studio Rack (so the controller midi track does not need to be record enabled).

4) You can then Right Click on any parameter in a PlugIn in Studio Rack to map the CC message as usual - including the foot pedals.

5) For non Waves PlugIns, you can use VST3 versions in the rack - they will not have Right-Click CC mapping enabled but you can use the 8 Macros in Studio Rack to control them and then map the Macro Control with Right Click Midi CC mapping.

I suppose the trick is to not think of the FCB101 as a controller, but rather a midi instrument that sends CC messages.

I now have a pretty nice effects rack for my Guitar (that's another post) completely controlled by the FCB101 with Banks of available CC messages and 2 continuous CC message foot controllers.

Hope this helps a fellow traveler.
