I don't think that's necessary. Receive good news from technical support, this is the response from avid:

Thank you for contacting AVID.

Right now, our Development Team is still working on the new Eleven Rack driver that will support M1 computers (MacOS Monterey). We still don't have any news on when it will be completed.

The latest driver release for Eleven Rack at the moment is version 1.2.14 that supports macOS Catalina (10.15.7) and Mojave (10.14.6). [https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Rack-Drivers]

Wow. I had given up. I just got my Eleven Rack working again with my Windows machine - as the audio interface w/the 11R editor etc. I really enjoyed that setup as a primarily guitar focused composer. I'd love to use that configuration with my Mac again.

Just realized the editor will never be updated for apple silicon. Sigh.

Mmm a very creative hacker might be able to remote the very simple MIDI over USB controls from the Editor on an old Intel Mac through an Apple Silicon Mac and be able to get both the editor on the Intel mac and the interface on the Silicon Mac to work at the same time.

No I'm not doing that. But it was not hard years ago to reverse engineer much of the Editor commands/traffic. Very simple with a trivial CRC on messages. As others did as well. Nice to see how it works, no interest in reimplementing any of it's capabilities (and without the Eleven Mk II plugin UI source components there is no way anybody is gong to want to redo all that UI stuff). All just easier to move the Eleven Rack to close by and use the front panel.

^^^ there are a bunch of remote USB over TCP apps for Mac. I'v never tested them with an Eleven Rack and the Editor, but one place to start if anybody is interested it is to see if you can get the Eleven Rack Editor up on an Intel Mac remote to another Intel Mac using one of these products. (It might even work to an Apple Silicon Mac just using class complaint MIDI drivers??). Start with just that and the Eleven Rack not being tried to be used as an audio device on either system.
