Non-USB MIDI Interface for Laptop?
I have an MBox, and a laptop with only one USB port, which has to be used (without a hub) for the MBox.
Does anyone know of MIDI interfaces for laptops that aren't USB-based? I have a 9-pin serial port, a firewire card, and a spare Cardbus slot, any of which might be used for a MIDI interface... Thanks, C. |

Re: Non-USB MIDI Interface for Laptop?
You might look around for a midiman Portman.
Serial to midi.

Re: Non-USB MIDI Interface for Laptop?
Excellent suggestion - the Portman is not easily visible from the top level of M/Audio's site. Have to check out their online store.
For those interested: http://m-audio.rjmg.com/index.cfm?gid=151 Both serial port and parallel port versions. C. |
