In the upper left of the edit window (just under the shuffle, spot, etc modes) you have to turn the tab to transient button on. Then you can drop your cursor into the snare track and hit the tab key. It'll jump to each hit.

is it possible to go tab trans in reverse direction?

also, is there a menu selection and/or a gui control for cursor placement? i dont recall changing any settings, but now it keeps jumping to the beginning of the song regardless of where i put it.

any links to good tutorials on editing ? thanks!

I use the "L" ":" """ "P" keys. You can sample replace w/ rt hand on those keys and left hand on the "V" quite quickly. (kinda reminds me of playing scales or arpeggios)

I can't remember what that is, make sure "Insertion Follows PB" is not on and check prefs.

option - tab will tab in reverse, which to me seems to yield better results for some reason in tab to transient.

When you say cursor placement do you mean insertion point, or where playback starts? Check that you didn't turn on pre-roll (cmd+K) this will hapeen if you option - click somewhere. Also check "Link edit and timeline selection" under operations. It's button is right next to the tab to transient button.

If you have your keyboard commands on and hit "n" by accident the curser will toggle between play from stop and play from origional point. A really bad place to put that quick key
