Default PSP Lexicon plug-in, \"real\" lexicon, or other?

I see that there are now Lexicon PSP42 and PSP84
plug-ins available. Has anyone tried them?
How do they compare to real lexicon processors?

I currently have the rverb plug-in as well as
a M300 rack unit, but I'm not terribly happy with either
of them.

Any suggestions for a professional quality reverb?

I couldn't find any mention of Lex PSP84, but I found this...
Quote:

Lexicon PSP 42
This plug-in is not yet shipping. It will support the RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats on Mac OS 9 and OS X.

Just found this on the Lexicon site about the 84. Looks like it's going to be MAC only RTAS, too.
However, VST is listed under Windows support. Wonder if it'd work with the new VST-RTAS Adapter?

http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/psp84.html

I notice 42 lists Win VST version, too...

Both list for $149.

Ok, looks like I need a rack unit then. I was kind of
leaning that way anyway.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between a $200
Lexicon and a $4,000 Lexicon (besides $3,800 )

Thanks

The PSP42 has been out for ages, it was written by PSP Audioware with Lexicon's blessing as a software re-creation of the Lexicon PCM42 delay unit.

PSP Audioware are releasing all their plugins for RTAS but are focussing on Mac OSX first, then they'll look after the PC.

The PSP42 is available now for VST and it is really nice if your into more crunchy delays.

So before you all get excited it's a DELAY UNIT! not a REVERB. You can download a demo I think from the PSP Site

Cheers,
Marcus

...yes and this is NOT a Mac company, these guys knows how to put together a string of code for PC, so it is anoying that the Mac RTAS has been out for ages and the PC RTAS is nowhere to be seen...

Actually PsP did say there would be a PC RTAS version, but that it was easier to do the Mac version first for some reason, but that was a while ago and I'm kinda surprised I didn't hear anything about it since yet.I use it in Sonar via the FXpansion VST-DX adapter and the VST-RTAS wrapper supports the same plugs so I see no reason why they won't work via the upcoming wrapper/adapter.And yes they are delay's just like their hardware counterparts and sound very similar.Their not the kind of plugs I use that much, but their gems nonetheless.Go straight for the 84 as it's the big brother of the 42 with more features/presets ect.

Being persistent...

So I see that lexicon offers three general classes of
products - The MPX stuff, which runs in the $200-$500 range,
the PCM stuff, which runs in the $2k range, and the M300
at a whopping $4k+.

Is anyone familiar with these different product lines?
How much do I need to spend to get a truly professional
quality reverb (better than rverb or my TCE M300)?

Thanks.

Since the post started off with PSP 42 Delay as a plugin I would say - don´t forget about Bf Tel-Ray, it´s a beuty on voicetracks.
