Can someone explain to me why I can't purchase my HD update for the long advertised price of $399. I live and work in Iceland, outside the EU, and when I log on to my Avid account the currency quote is always Euros and the price is about $50 more. Why?

US prices are ex.vat and EU prices are inc.vat perhaps? Possibly differences in currency values? Perhaps some additional Avid-wants-more-money-from-us-europeans tax?

Can you use a VPN through a North American server or is your location somehow tied to your Avid account? What about a US dealer other than Avid?

Oh, yes... Iceland is not an EU country. While possibly not illegal, it is certainly immoral. I always buy things in Finland store

Haha. Interesting back and forth. Yes Iceland is not in the EU. That is one of the reasons I question the pricing in Euros. And yes there may be VAT. The local rate is 24%. Still the figures don't add up.
