EuControl + PT|Control: Better Configuration Management?

I started using the PT|Control app and was quite positively surprised. There's really a lot of commands you can program. Some you can't even get to easily with shortcuts. Really great!

But after trying it a bit, I wanted to adjust the layout and move some buttons according to how I work, make it more logical for me. And then things started to get really annoying. The EuControl editor seems to be stuck in 1990. Or am I missing something? This is what I'd like to do.

1) Make several different configurations of the complete EuControl setup and name them. Currently it seems as if EuControl takes the name of the app and you can only save configurations under this one name. When you change something and want to save it, you have to overwrite the last config file. You cannot make a new configuration for that tool. Is there no "Save As"?

2) Move and copy/paste cells in the Touchscreen section so I can quickly re-arrange stuff according to my workflow. But I haven't found a way of moving them or copying them. Do you really have to clear each cell and then look for that function through all the complex and deep menu structures? There's no copy/pasting of cells?

PT|Control seems like a great idea and for me it works well and stable. But configuring this thing is impossible without using your complete vacation only to move around some buttons. Or did I miss something?

it is pretty new .. a virgin of iPad controllers .. a newbie .. something that needs plenty of work done over the next few years ..

i feel your pain .. a completely Blank Canvas and a Hold Key and a List comes up to choose function .. and hold key copy and paste ...

I was talking about EuControl, which is already at version 3.4 and was there for the Artist Series years ago, was it not? It's EuControl that seems hard to configure in a quick way. But as nobody seems to have any problem with it, maybe it's me? Or it's not widely used?

You cannot even select multiple cells and delete them all at once. No copy paste, no moving of cells. How do you guys configure EuControl? You take vacation for it? Customizing seems awfully cumbersome. So you just don't customize?

Does anybody know where to direct feature requests to for EuControl software? I'm new to Avid and I've only found support for the official apps and hardware Avid sells, but not for a tool like EuControl. Also, everything Avid is always paid, so no support email or support case without paying.

Is there any place to add suggestions? Are Avid employees roaming the forums?

This is what I'd like to see added to EuControl.

• Search and Filter for Commands (so you don't have to search through all the menus, just type a word and the list filters by this word and you can select it quickly if you know the name, much quicker than going through all the hierarchy. Example: type "fades range" and dialog would show you "Adjust Fades to Range" and all others with Fades and Range in them, just select the one you are looking for, done)
• Drag & Drop of Cells For Quick Rearrangement
• Copy / Paste of Cells
• Multiple Selection of Cells (e.g. for deleting all in one go)
• Save Multiple Configurations and Switch Between Them

yes, EuCon is fairly mature .. i am addressing the integration between that and PT|Control ... i think i have been using EuCon with Transport for 2-3 years now ... this is by far the BEST EuCon version .. hands down ..

i know it is slow to program .. the interface for that will probably get smoother / easier / faster .. a way to hold a button down and have a menu come up with options ..

you can cheat a little bit - by editing the text file that your controller loads up..

Becos the EUCON softkey editor is extremely slow.. a copy and paste or drag and drop interface would be nice...

Its a shame that all the EUCON commands are not published up here somewhere.. It would be quite easy to go thru and get them

and then making layouts of your soft key could be sped up.

or if you wanted to move them around - it takes ages now ... really saps the creative juices!!!
