Default can you trim many regions at once?

Hi, I'm wondering if there's any shortcut to trim different regions at once (I'm not talking about when they are under each other, but when they are side to side)this would mazke drum editing so much easier...thanks...stephan.([email protected] m)

Strip Silence... Select the track. select the level threshold and then adjust lead in and lead out times... works fine.

I know what you mean: sequencer-style. If it works for you, you could also use Edit>Separate Region>On Grid which should work on a selection of multiples, though I haven't tried it.

Hi,

In version 7 you can do this on midi regions but not audio regions. "mirrored midi editing" under the options menu, or there's a shortcut in the edit window next to the grid value.

Can I come in the discussion on this ?

Let's put it that way, I have 10 audio regions on one track (coming from an omf file for example), all those region are 1 second too short at the head and at the tale, how can I trim those 10 regions at the same time to get the 1 second handle I need ?e

Hi,

Elmostephane and deardaddy, here's the PT reference guide, look at chapter 19 strip silence..

http://archive.digidesign.com/suppor...ce%20Guide.pdf

By selecting all the regions in one track and then adjusting the start pad you can determine how much blank to have in front of your audio regions!! maybe some help for adjusting multiple regions?

Chris,

I might be wrong but the Strip silence won't work for me (I tried it), we're talking about omf files wich come already edited on PT's time line.
They appear as separate blocks.
the Strip silence thing would be nice if we want to separate one big region into smaller ones.

Am I right ?

Hi Pascal,

In your case the files came as OMF so there's no chance of making the regions any longer than they were when they were created as OMF!! but for other user's and in many cases this can be used to trim the audio regions front/start or end/finish point etc.

Unfortunately there's no way yet to trim multiple regions of audio horizontically on the same track (you can vertically on different tracks by select multi regions and holding shift then adjust regions start or end.)

"strip silence" and "beat detective seperate region" are the 2 best ways to do this kind of stuff, so experiment with those and see if they work for you.

There is a way to trim omf files as they have handles, I have to manually trim each region so I have the sound I need, I was hoping for an easier way to do it.
I can nox do that with some shortcuts but I was looking for an automatic procedure.

Thanks for your time.
