Tab to transient
Could someone give me a simplified explanation of what 'tab to transient' is? I got the crossfading thing down.. I think its in the same realm maybe? The PT reference guide didn't really help out

Re: Tab to transient
From the Reference Guide:
With the Tab to Transients button, you can automatically navigate to transients in audio waveforms, placing the cursor just before the detected transient peak. This allows you to easily define selections and play ranges, as well as start and end points for new regions, without having to zoom in on the waveform. |

Re: Tab to transient
Imagine you are on beat one of a track...trying to select certain beats. Say cleaning up a track but you need to find the beat, since perhaps you dont have a tempo map.
shift + tab gets you to the next major beat (the transient) (IN A NUTSHELL) Kind of an auto detect waveform events... You can use it to make a tempo map, make selections etc. Check out beat detective....it uses that technology to detect the "beats" hence the name. It kind of makes sense.

Re: Tab to transient
Hi JonMitchell,
Just use Tab to transient 3-4 times in one go on a drum track for exemple (that's for the best visual results) and you will understand how it work (and what's good about it during editing) |
