Default Pro Tools 10 FireWire freezes system on project(s) startup

Hi! I've been having a problem with PT10. When opening any project, my whole system will often freeze up completely, and I have to do a hard reboot. Sometimes it can work completely fine, though. This only happens with Firewire interfaces (both with my Steinberg MR816x and my Echo Audiofire Pre8), and not USB. Same issue with both my motherboard firewire (VIA chip) and my PCI firewire card (TI chip). Legacy driver doesn't help, and neither does different buffer sizes. Does anyone have any idea of what could solve this? Thanks a bunch!
