Protools HD9 Native and Venue 2.9.1

Hello all, a solution is being worked on but thought I'd put this out there to others that may have more info. It's my first real post in this forum, so hope it all makes sense!

I've just had a protools rig put together for live recording with the Venue HDx Card, based on the following specs.

17" 2.2gig MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt port (Brand spanking new)
Magma Express Box 1 (EB1H) c/w PCIe Native Card
2 x Glyph Portagig SSD drives

All looks nice, but I've found the shiny new laptop is having compatibility issues. This has been confirmed as the laptop has now been switched for an earlier Macbook Pro (I believe running the same OS), and with a couple of buffer option changes, it's working fine.

Has anybody encountered this new machine and tried to put it to the same use? In my head, there shouldn't be any issue as we're not using the Thunderbolt port for anything (the Native card connects to the Express Card slot), but I'm not a whizz on all this ProTools mayhem.

Thoughts?
