Ivory - Streaming from an external HD
I'm very seriously considering getting Ivory for use with my iMac G5 based 002 system (2 gigs of RAM)... I've read that the best method for running Ivory is to stream the samples from a dedicated internal SATA drive, but with the iMac that's not an option.
I currently use a FW Seagate drive as my audio drive. I also have a Western Digital USB 2.0 disk (7200 RPM) that I could rip out of my PC rig, reformat, and dedicate to Ivory. Has anyone tried running Ivory off a USB 2.0 drive with any success? I know that the USB drives aren't recommended for PT, but I figured I'd try this before getting another FW disk. I'm running PT7 - latest CS release. Any insights are greatly appreciated!

Re: Ivory - Streaming from an external HD
I've been using a Micronet USB drive for that purpose without any problems. I don't usually run Ivory on the same box as PT but as long as you're using the 002 via firewire I don't see why the USB drive would be a problem. It's an outstanding VSTi, you'll love it.
