Default Will HDX hybrid engine affect VI performance?

Will this new update for HDX make a difference when running native VI’s? In a dense mix that needs a higher buffer setting to playback smoothly can I activate the hybrid engine on a single native VI track and record some very low latency drums in real time? Or will native VI’s pretty much work the same way they did before the hybrid engine?

There are no DSP VIs, so no, Hybrid Mode won't directly allow for low latency recording of VIs. There seems to be some mentions of CPU performance increases for native plugins when running with an HDX card in Hybrid Mode, so that might be a way that Hybrid Mode indirectly improves VI performance. But I cannot say for sure.

Thanks for the info. It’ll be interesting to see if any increased CPU performance from this update will have a measurable affect on VI’s.

We do tons of MIDI, and VI performance has not been negatively affected. If anything, it has improved.
