If your PT Prefs Helper app didn't exist I would hate PT a lot more that I do. It has saved me more time and trouble than AVID would want to know about.

Thank you!

Hey Pete,

It looks like this version is automatically creating back ups when I trash the preferences. Is this normal?

Hey Dave,
Yup, this is intentional, in case anyone needs to undo a trashing. The whole interface has been simplified to make it a lot less intimidating and dangerous than it used to be for people that weren't accustomed to doing it. I'll be reintroducing the ability to only trash selected files (and without it backing everything up first).

Cheers,
Pete

Cool, good to know. I saved a back up of my preferences and restored from that after trashing and so far everything‘s working good. Keeping my fingers crossed that ProTools runs as smooth from doing that as it does from manually reentering preferences. It’s very nice to have my PT preferences done with one click! Thanks.

Beta 6 is available. There is now an Advanced page for people who want to be able to trash individual items like before.

Pete

Thanks much as always for this, Pete.

Couple of feature requests for the Plugins pane.

Would love to have a "Manufacturer" column, and also a search box (i have a lot of plugins).

of course, I am happy to pay your for your software if you make is possible!

I find this little thing very useful
Pluginfo - I think it's free, or I might have paid $10.
Very practical for checking versions and such. Although I haven't really looked into the latest version of Pete's utility, they might be overlapping in functionality.
