Everymac every time. Super useful resource, never found a problem with it. It's "Pre-installed macOS" version info is great at letting you know what you can roll back to. Easier to find/navigate than anything from Apple support. Also a great quick resource to see max official/unofficial max memory configs.

Have mentioned this in the past. Been using it for years as the iOS app is super convenient.

I like that you can have favourites so you can essentially have shortcuts for your own computers/devices.

Default Re: Mac Ventura Compatibility

Hi everyone, my Mac Studio MAX came with Monterey, I recently upgraded to Ventura and everything I own works without a problem.

I have two systems:

1 - (Mac mini) on which I install and test that everything works before installing on the main system.

2 - (Mac Studio MAX) Main system.

I hope I can help anyone who is undecided.

Greetings to all from the Canary Islands.

Greetings to you from the North Star State US :) In my lounge I have a loaded M1 Mini with Ventura and latest PT along with UAD, Softube, Soundtoys, Waves, PA, Izotope, and Avid, etc., plugins that's running quite excellent. However, I would call my sessions all light to medium all music/audio sessions with sometimes medium to heavy plugin/mix usage. Disclaimer: mileage varies and I haven't read every letter of this thread (and kind of off topic) but have a loaded Intel Mini doing the same BUT I know many of these plugins (right now) will not work when PT is AS native unless all those plugs are too (but what do I know). PS. I do have current compatible system too but just conversation :)

Seasons Greetings!

I upgraded one of my M1 machines to Ventura and I have a debilitation issue with the smart tool cursor stuttering between the smart tool and standard Mac cursor. makes editing a total drag. Known issue with Ventura.

I have an M1 Max (64GB), the internal drive runs Monterey and Studio One natively, an external SSD runs Ventura and Pro Tool via Rosetta, have provisioned a third SSD to run Ventura and Pro Tools natively when it’s released. Samples are stored on an OWC m.2 Thunderbolt enclosure (8TB), so they can be shared between systems. It will be interesting to see which plugins are available on launch day (ported to ARM AAX). I am hoping for Toontrack, UVI, Kontakt, Fabfilter and a few izotope ones.

You are correct sir thanks! Early on didn't do any editing but sure enough when I did that's exactly what happened. Yes, no doubt a showstopper for editing.

Have a good one!

Presumably this known problem with the smart tool cursor only happens on Apple Silicon? No problems with this for me on Ventura on an Intel MBP.

Thanks! I Spaced out mentioning that I didn't try on the Intel machine so that's good to know too thanks!

Smart tool cursor problems were first (recently) mentioned months ago and affect Monterey and PT a few versions back, at least. I am running 2020 intel iMac.

It might have got worse by Ventura, but I've had some issues on Monterey (and noticed people also on Monterey discussing this issue) since months running now.
