Default 2021.12 download keeps failing from within Avid Link

Win 10 Home Version 21H2 OS build 19044.1387
Pro Tools Software 2021.10
Avid Link: Version 21.12.0 Build 2682


The Pro Tools 2021.12 download keeps failing from within Avid Link; have tried clearing cache, to no avail; any ideas how to fix?

Just tried from my.avid.com/products and both macOS and Windows installers are downloading (I'm using Firefox 95.0 on macOS 10.15.7). I updated to 2021.12 on my iMac using Avid Link on Wed, and did the same on my Mac Mini today.

Have you tried downloading 2021.12 from the Download Center as well?

What browser/version are you using?

The latest version of Chrome; just tried from Download Center on different computer, same thing (network error)

Just tested with Chrome 96.0.4664.93 (though I'm on macOS) and that's working. Might still be worth trying another browser if you're able to.

It’s looking like, as best as I can tell, I’ve got a small misconfiguration in my home network setup (something about a mismatched public-facing IP address) which may be causing Avid’s servers to terminate the downloads… hoping to fix today.

I had to first temporarily disable Advanced Security features on Eero network, and then put Eero into bridge mode; after which Avid Link was able to download the update.

This is still not working via Avid Link 14/02/2022 after a new re-installation of Windows 10 from scratch, IE completely clean OS and Avid, PT, etc.
What is the fix that does not included browser use, as i want Avid Link to function correctly again...and this SHOULD NEVER involve having to turn any anti-spyware, malware, email, download, etc, software off for it to work because that means Avid has not cleared its software with such programs due to certificates being outdated or incorrectly signed, and many other failures on Avid's behalf relating to security SOPs they need to adhere too.

I cannot get it to work either. I really needed to edit an audio file. So I ended up downloading Audacity and finishing this basic audio project I needed to finish. Bc after downloading avidlink on my laptop, and seeing Protools and Protools first listed, I could not download them. Now, I understand "first" is gone. I was trying to download Intro, bc I am on a different PC. But, it was soooo frustrating not to just be able to download and go (meaning use the software).

I have to register some feedback. And I am sorry if it is TLDR. I have been a long-time Protools user. I first learned it before the turn of the century at a radio station where I worked. I eventually became the production director. Later, I went into some music production. And then I went into teaching. Every few years, I switch job locations, and so I tend to use Protools for a few months, then I go a couple of years not using it, then I need it again. Every time. And I mean every time I come back - it takes me days to figure out the new system. Heck, even logging into this discussion board was frustrating. It asked me what is Avid's DAW (which is still a sore spot for some of us - won't go into it - long dead debate). And I answered Protools (multiple spellings). And it said "Nope." I had to request a new password etc.

I just wish things worked when you download them. Why do I have to get a Ph.D. in computer science to figure out how to get the program to work? I have AVID LINK. But, every time I try to download it - it says "failure." And how do I get Intro - it's not even listed. It should be easy as pie. But it never is. Over two decades. And every time I dust off my DAW, something has changed so that I can't use it. Did anyone ever see Battlestar Galactica? I want a PC where I will take it offline and have no network, bc all the time they constantly change everything and make it damn difficult to use. Ok, that's it, I am off my soapbox. I am sorry to rant and vent, but I just needed it to work last night. And it didn't. I ended up downloading an inferior product - and barely got my work done.
