Default How do I update from 13.0 to supported 13.2.1 only, not the 13.3.1 what about plugs?

Hi,

Just went from 2012 MBP to 2023 16" and trying to figure out how to come out of the stone age with all the updates needed...

I see current Ventura is 13.3.1 but PT supported version is 13.2.1, how or where could I get the macOS update to 13.2.1 only, without going to 13.3.1? As I understand, Apple is not doing it too easy to get not-the-latest versions...

Also, how can I tell what Avid pulgins are M2 compatible? I read "The Avid Complete Plugin Bundle 2023.3" should have the Apple silicon support but then again under the Avid Complete Plug-In Bundle downloads in my Avid account I see "XPand!2 2019.12 Mac (DMG) 1.11 GB, Studio Reverb 2018.8 (Mac) 2.04 MB, Tape Echo 2018.8 (Mac) 2.32 MB" and it's hard to believe 2018/2019 versions were already Apple Silicon compatible... Any suggestions regarding this would also be helpful.

Thanks!

What, yet another thread on all this?

These exact questions have been addressed many times on DUC. You can't use Google search to find answers?

The answer on macOS is you do what everybody does, you just upgrade to the latest Ventura, there seems nobody reporting credible problems on DUC with this 13.3.1 update and the recent security fixes from Apple are serious enough you should take them.

Those old plugins are not Apple Silicon native, as you realized. Not all plugins made it to Apple Silicon, ones that did not have been discussed on DUC. And you can always just install stuff and test or look at the installed plugins with Pro Tools Prefs 2.

Thanks to the OP for this question. I had a similar one in that the IT dept at the college where I teach wants to update my Pro Tools machine to Ventura 13.3.1. Avid is listing 13.2.1 as being compatible but not 13.3.1. So, I was wondering if anyone running 13.3 is having any issues.

Thanks!
