pro tools wont open. help!

hey everyone. heres my deal. i run PT LE 5.3 on XP with the 001 card. i have been running it for well over a year and have had no real problems with stability until today. when trying to open PT there is an instillation error stating that "the software needs certin device drivers and a reboot to open. so reinstall the software or reboot your system." so i rebooted still wont open. did a intall repair, unintalled PT then reinstalled, did a system restore and even reinstalled XP. nothing worked still get the same error. any ideas or has anyone had this problem? please help
