Default Noticeable better perf btwn firewire 400/80

Hi. I am considering change my firewire board in my pc (i am using a 400 mbps firewire adapter, connected to digi 002)... any suggestion about wich firewire pci controller board brand or model to have better performance? if i put a 800 mbps firewire board... i will have noticeable better performance? thanks in advance!

To the best of my knowledge, protools does not support firewire 800 so it may not work at all.

I use the SIIG FireWire 800. Works great. And once you network your computers using firewire 800 you will never go back to ethernet.

I have had variuos Digi workstations networked together incuding 002 based workstations using the SIIG FireWire 800. Very cool stuff you can do. You can even audition sounds right in PT LE from the other networked computer.

You will not see better performance by using a Firewire 800 card and your 002 system.

True that 800 has some advantages, just none that the 002 makes use of.
As Shan mentioned there are ways to benenfit from the 800 card, but it will be overall system related not 002 related.
So if your goal is to enhnance your 002 peformance you won't get it that way.
